The spirit of a child in the womb doesn’t have to mature the way a soul and a body has to mature. The spirit of a child in the womb is as mature as it is ever going to be.
We see this in the example of when Mary visited her cousin Elizabeth. In Luke 1, when Elizabeth heard Mary’s greeting, John the Baptist leaped for joy and was filled with the Holy Spirit.
John the Baptist in the womb of Elizabeth recognized Jesus the Messiah in the womb of Mary.
God gives every child a mature spirit at conception.
This is why it is so important that we cherish, honor and value the life of the preborn because viable life begins at conception.
