There is nothing like vacation to derail your quiet time.
Even the most consistent person often finds it difficult to get back into their old quiet time routine after having been on vacation, and the reason is because many believers take a “vacation” from the quiet time when they take a vacation from work.
This is a mistake.
You don’t take a vacation from eating real food when you’re on vacation, why would you take vacation from spiritual food?
Here are 5 ways to get your Bible reading in while you are on vacation
1. Save room in your luggage by using a device.
Instead of packing your giant study Bible, save room by using an app on your smart phone or by downloading a Bible on your Kindle. This one is my favorite.
2. Switch up your study method.
Summertime is almost here. Starting thinking now about a study you’d like to do for the summer. Switch things up and make them interesting and exciting so that when summer arrives you are excited about your new study.
3. Choose a reading plan.
Will you continue to read through the Bible? Maybe you want to do a topical or character study. Sit down and start mapping out your reading plan now.
With my Bible Reading Challenge, you get a reading plan already made for you in a 55-page journal. The reading plan takes you through the entire Bible in 365 days so that every year you are reading through the entire Bible, cover to cover.
4. Set a time and stick with it.
One of the ways your quiet time can get derailed during the summer, or while on vacation, is that with your schedule change, you didn’t set a time for quiet time.
I don’t know about you, but it seems that for me, if I don’t have a set time for my quiet time it just doesn’t happen. We will never “find the time” for a quiet time. We have to make time. Set a time and then stick with it.
5. Move your usual time.
Is your usual quiet time in the mornings, but you wish to sleep in?
Move it to mid-day when the rest of the family is resting.
Perhaps you usually do your quiet time in the evenings but plan to do more activities with your family in the evenings during the summer, get up 1/2 hour earlier and do your quiet time before breakfast.
If you feel that your quiet time will be neglected this summer because of your schedule change, move it to another time of day.
You can always move it back when your usual schedule resumes.
Don’t neglect your time with the Lord this summer.
Keep investing in your time with Him and watch your spiritual life grow and thrive as you continue to grow in Him daily through your fellowship with Him.
I have created a 67-page journal that will help you do these three things to deepen you relationship with Christ.
You can download it for free today and start on this amazing journey to get to know Christ better!

This are great practical ways to maintain a healthy consistent relationship with Christ through daily devotions when the daily schedule has changed. Thank you for encouraging others to maintain their spiritual walk with the Lord. It is when this most vital part of our spiritual life is neglected that we become vulnerable to other more harmful temptations.
