Hi! I am so glad you’ve found me!
Are you passionate about seeing a generation radical for Jesus?
- Do you, as parents, wonder how you can effectively raise children that will be passionate followers of Christ as adults?
- Are you concerned about what you see today in modern Christianity?
- Does the political correctness in the church today make you question where we are headed as the the body of Christ?
I have been a pastor for over 40 years, ministering in 48 of the 50 states and across Canada and Europe; and over the years I have watched a subtle shift in the church as political correctness and humanism have crept in and overtaken the pulpit.
I am passionate about laying a solid, godly foundation for many generations.
And that is why I began Foundational. I want to offer article and resources to pastors, church leaders and lay ministers that will help them effectively lead their congregations to a deeper level of discipleship in Jesus Christ; empowering them to lay a strong foundation in their families for many generations.
Some of my articles to the church are:

About me:
I am a native of the Pacific Northwest United States. I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington and graduated from University High School in Spokane Valley. After high school, I served four years in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Following my military service, I entered full time Christian ministry in October 1971. And have been an ordained Bishop in the Church of God, Cleveland, TN since August 1976. My wife and I have planted four churches in the United States and Canada and assisted in planting many others. I now pastor at Living Faith Church in Hermiston, Oregon.
I have served as keynote speaker in leadership conferences, marriage and family conferences, and had a drive-time radio broadcast, “A Break Through Minute” in Portland, Oregon and Spokane, Washington. I have also written a weekly newspaper article “Perspective”, addressing current issues from a biblical perspective.
I hold a Masters degree in Ministry, a Masters degree in Theology, and Ph.D. in Theology with an emphasis on marriage and family counseling, and have served as an abuse counselor since 1980.
I have written a number of books, including Discovering True Identity and Agape, as well as a 3-part Discipleship Series.
With a passion to see this generation experience a transforming spiritual renewal, I preach and teach the uncompromised Word of God, calling the church back from the smoke and light shows, delusion, and tolerance message to the established Word of God.
It is with this deep commitment that I address issues facing the 21st Century disciple of Jesus Christ. Writing to a post-Christian, post-modern American culture, I teach that the Holy Bible is infallible and inerrant and holds the true answers for life. Passionately, I call for the church in the USA to return to the Lord Jesus Christ of the Holy Scriptures and to preach the true Gospel. As the Apostle Paul said:
“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed”(Galatians 1:6-9 NKJV).

Hi Pastor Dean. I can’t seem to find anything from you on the controversial doctrine of the trinity. Can you point me to one of your articles or give me your position on it, please? Thank you and God bless.
Do you believe women should be able to preach in the pulpit
I believe a woman may teach or preach from the pulpit as long as she is under the authority of the senior pastor. I do not believe a woman can biblically be a senior pastor
Honesty in this area is very shocking to people accustomed to being told what they want to here. I have never thought a woman should preach in the church, but she could lead groups of other women. I don’t know that I was influenced in that view by anyone specifically. I do know that 1) Eve was the one approached by Satan before the fall. Is it that because, as the woman, she was built to receive and was therefore easier to convince? Either way, it was Eve who was deceived, not Adam. Also, there is Titus that clearly list a woman’s main expected duties. Since they are things that didn’t disappear just because time changed, women should be more concerned with doing those things to the best of their ability. They can still ‘Marry young’ although today how young they marry may be different from the time Titus wrote in. Bearing children is still ONLY something women are able to do (in the way it was intended to be done). And while men can and often DO ‘keep the house’ it does not satisfy them the way it should. Most don’t do it for long stretches. It tends to make society see them as effeminate, which is why they are so loudly supportive of men who choose to do that. (<that is just my personal assumption.)
That none of my opinion is popular with most people must be obvious, but nothing that has ever been reasoned out to support a different view in my thinking has ever changed it except that they may have been speaking of women disrupting services by asking questions out loud in churches then as I believe there was a seating arrangement that kept them separate from their husbands at that time.
Certainly they were able to pray and prophesy as long as they were under proper headship of leaders in the church. But preaching requires more than book learning and it takes a ton of time away from the roles set aside for women specifically.
It sounds like you have studied the Bible properly, Beth, and are well committed to the Truth. A rare gem today. God bless.
