Toward the end of World War 1, in 1917, the British Government issued the Balfour agreement in the Treaty of Versailles that granted the Jewish people the land and borders that God gave Abraham in the Bible.

As we looked at in last week’s podcast A Biblical Theology of Israel and the Jewish People, the Jewish people are not occupiers.

We need to understand that there are two foundation stones with regard to the Jewish people and the land of Israel.

  1. God put His name in the land of Israel.
  2. God’s covenant with the Jewish people is a forever covenant

“At the same time,” says the LORD, “I will be the God of all the families of Israel, and they shall be My people.” Thus says the Lord: “The people who survived the sword found grace in the wilderness— Israel, when I went to give him rest.” The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: “Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.

Thus says the Lord, who gives the sun for a light by day, the ordinances of the moon and the stars for a light by night, who disturbs the sea, and its waves roar (The Lord of hosts is His name): “If those ordinances depart from before Me, says the Lord, Then the seed of Israel shall also cease from being a nation before Me forever.”

Jeremiah 31:1-3, 35-36

Israel has not been done away with, rather the church has been grafted into Israel. We have the gospel because of the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.

He has completed a Masters in Ministry, a Masters of Theology and a Ph.D. in practical theological with an emphasis in marriage and family counseling. His enthusiastic and challenging ministry has made him a popular teacher and conference speaker. He has written eight books and is presently writing the third book in a trilogy Freedom Series.
