3 Reasons Why Evolutionary Creationism Is a New Gospel

There is a new set of evangelists coming to a church near you. They are preaching a new Gospel. But… is it the Gospel?
The headlines in the article reads: “Evolution is Real. The Bible is True.” Then the article states: “Evolutionary creation scholars are hitting the road. Invite a speaker today.”
Why would I call Evolutionary Creationism a new Gospel?
Evolution has been a popular belief system since Charles Darwin wrote On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life and published it in 1859.
What makes this new is the special effort of training and preparing evangelists to go into churches and preach evolution is the biblical model for the existence of all things.
Pope Francis introduced the same message inside the Roman Catholic Church when he spoke to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences stating, “The Big Bang that today is considered to be the origin of the world does not contradict the creative intervention of God; on the contrary, it requires it. Evolution in nature is not in contrast with the notion of divine creation because evolution requires the creation of the beings that evolve.”
3 Reasons Why Evolutionary Creationism Is a New Gospel
1. This is a new Gospel because it replaces the biblical truth God created the world in six literal days.
Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution or natural selection has three core doctrines.
- Organic beings appear on the earth through natural process.
- Gradual evolution of higher life forms over millions of years.
- Human beings appear on the earth as a part of the gradual evolution of high life form and not a separate act of creation.
These three core doctrines violate and contradict the Holy Scriptures both Old and New Testament.
Genesis clearly teaches plant life, animal life and human life were created uniquely on separate days not through a natural process over millions of years.
Hebrews 11:3 clearly states all forms of created life were spoken into existence by God.
“By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.”
This new Gospel replaces the biblical truth with a theory developed in the heart of an atheist.
Even the renowned atheist Richard Dawkins declares evolution and Christianity do not mix.
It is a theory that requires one to deny the infallibility and inerrancy of Scripture.
After each act of creation recorded in Genesis 1 it says, “so the evening and morning were…” and it specifies a day; “the first day… the second day…” and so forth.
The Hebrew word for day is yowm. It is used four hundred and ten times in the Holy Bible, all of them referring to a twenty-four hour period of time.

God made it very clear what He meant by day, “So the evening and morning were the first day… the second day… the third day… the fourth day… the fifth day… the sixth day…”
The evening and the morning is one full rotation of the sun.
What could possibly be clearer?
It is not an era, millennia, or even a decade. Each day is one twenty-four hour period of time.
“And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made” (Genesis 2:2-3 NKJV).
On the seventh yowm God ended His work.
It is not continuing to evolve.
It is completed and God declared it was good.
A key component in the whole of Scripture and the redemption of mankind is the seventh day. The Apostle Paul said it best.
“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness, because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened” (Romans 1:18-21 NKJV).
God has chosen to reveal His glory and His invisible attributes through His creation.

The supreme declaration of God’s glory through creation is the human being.
2. This is a new Gospel because it removes the biblical truth that mankind, the human race, is a unique species of being made in the image of God.
The theory of evolution says humans evolved from animal life and has survived through the power of natural selection.
Mankind is simply a higher form of animal life. They are not unique.
Holy Scripture says in Genesis 1:26, “Then God said, ‘Let us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness…’”
The Psalmist declared, “What is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You visit him? For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and You have crowned him with glory and honor. You have made him to have dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet, all sheep and oxen — even the beasts of the field, the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea that pass through the paths of the seas. O LORD, our Lord, how excellent is Your name in all the earth” (Psalms 8:4-9 NKJV)!
The human race is not a higher form of animal but a unique species made in the image of Almighty God with a creative mind, a free will, inspire emotions and an eternal spirit.
What species of the animal kingdom has invented an airplane, a skyscraper or a computer?
Animals live by natural instinct but men and women have the power of free choice.
The human race does not live by their five physical senses and emotions alone.
We have a conscience and spiritual sensory that enable us to make us an eternal being capable of living in relationship with Almighty God.
3. This is a new Gospel because it removes the necessity for the redemption of mankind.
Indeed, evolution demeans human life to merely the survival of the fittest and removes the significance of sin and the eternal damnation of the human race.
Why should God love and care about a man or woman in Des Moines, Iowa or a boy and girl in Beijing, China than He would a golden eagle or a Grizzly bear?
Who should mankind be redeemed and saved any more than the snail darter or the hump back whale?
The prophet Isaiah answered those questions.
“But now, thus says the LORD, who created you, O Jacob, and He who formed you, O Israel: ‘Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you. For I am the LORD your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior…’” (Isaiah 53:1-3 NKJV).
God uniquely loves mankind because He created them by hand and personally breathed life into them.
He used His own image as the template and declares Himself to be their Father.
Just as a human father and mother love all children but have a unique and special love for their personal off-spring, who bears their image and life blood, so Heavenly Father loves all of His creation but has a special and unique love for mankind because they are His off-spring, bearing His image and life blood.
John 3:16 says it.
“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.”
That is the true Gospel.
Anything; anything, that supplants, removes, or replaces this must not be embraced. Just as the Apostle Paul warned the believers in Galatia.
“I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him who called you in the grace of Christ, to a different gospel, which is not another; but there are some who trouble you and want to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed. As we have said before, so now I say again, if anyone preaches any other gospel to you than what you have received, let him be accursed” (Galatians 1:6-9 NKJV).
Indeed, this is really not a new Gospel but a new package of the old lie.
While there are many more reasons for rejecting evolution, the Church must be diligent in “earnestly contending for the truth once and for all delivered to the saints” (Jude 3).
We have been entrusted with the most precious gift; the Gospel that will redeem the human race.
We must not allow a syncretic message to replace the truth.
