You Can’t Build a Condominium on a Sandy Beach

I will never forget hearing the news report in the 1990’s.
A corporation was filing a lawsuit against the State of Oregon because a set of condominiums they had built upon a stretch of Oregon beach front had been destroyed during a typical winter storm that strikes that portion of the Oregon coast most winters.
It is common for winds to reach sixty to ninety miles and hour, sometimes over a hundred miles an hour during those winter storms.
These condominiums had been built on sand, not on the rocky cliffs that rise above the Oregon beaches, but on the sandy coastline.
These developers chose to build condominiums on a foundation of sand. Then filed a lawsuit against the state because their condo’s crumbled in a storm.
You can’t make this stuff up.
As crazy as that story sounds (and it is completely true) the USA is seeking to build an entire culture upon sand. Jesus spoke about such a thing happening at the close of the Sermon on the Mount, recorded in Matthew 7:26-27.
“But everyone who hears these sayings of Mine, and does not do them, will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it fell. And great was its fall” (NKJV).
When a person tries to build their life, or if a nation seeks to build their culture, upon principles, morals, and values that are not truth, they are building on sand.
Although it appears to be working successfully for a season, maybe even a few years or a couple of decades, real adversity will reveal they have not built on a solid foundation.
It will not endure. It will collapse because there is no strength in the structure.
Education systems began teaching truth is relative in the late 1960’s.
That distortion has come to full measure as the Oregon Department of Education is now insisting teachers must not require students to have correct answer in addition, subtraction, multiplication, or division, because that would be “white privilege.”
It makes a clear-thinking person ask, “What?!
Is it “white privilege” to require receiving the correct change when you pay for something in the store?” Fifty years of building on a foundation of sand.
Biology is no longer based upon scientific evidence and biological absolutes but upon the sandy foundation of emotional subjectivity.
An individual may have ovaries, a womb, the capacity to breast feed, experience a monthly cycle, and have the full measure of right and left brain-function; however, that does not mean they are a woman.
They may have feelings like they are a man and personally identify with being male. Therefore, they are male, even though, biologically they are without question, female.
Another person may have no ovaries, no womb, do not experience a monthly cycle, and has no capacity to breast feed.
They do have the male genital system and are very left brain in function, however, they dress in women’s clothing and identify as a woman. They are considered female, even though biologically they are without question a man!
Kindergarten and early education curriculum are now espousing the “new truth” about human sexuality.
The new math is putting men and women into the work force that have little capacity for completing the most basic math problems and the ability to give correct change to customers without a computer telling them the answer.
The press, media, publishing, arts, drama, educational institution, courts, and government entities are all complicit in this perversion of truth.
They are openly propagating lies, distortions, and delusion. They insist, no they demand, full acceptance and compliance with this “new truth” as they continue to build a cultural structure on a foundation of sand.
Time does not permit explaining the total rewrite of the human experience, such as “white privilege” is in the DNA of a Caucasian or the total distortion of the Puritans, Pilgrims, the American Revolution, and our nation’s founding documents.
The delusion of Critical Race Theory, Black Lives Matter and ANTIFA that is being propagated in the media, while totally ignoring their true origin and motives, is both shocking and terribly disturbing.
No individual or family, and certainly no nation and culture will long survive when they have built themselves upon deception, distortion, and delusion.
Such a structure is built upon shifting sand with no foundation to endure the certain storm that is coming.
Jesus gave the only hope for life, for a nation, and for a culture.
“Therefore, whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock: and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock” (Matthew 7:24-25 NKJV).
It is incumbent upon every true disciple of Jesus Christ to do two things at this point.
1) Pray earnestly a fresh love for truth will grip the heart of the Church and our culture.
2) Live authentically.
Have eyes, ears, and heart to hear the Word of God and live it with sincerity and authenticity no matter how counterculture it may appear. The Apostle James wrote it so well.
“But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves…But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hear but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does” (James 1:22, 25 NKJV).
