Are you looking for a gift for someone who is a new Christian and needs encouragement in their new walk with Jesus Christ?
Look no further than here, because this year I’m giving you some great gift ideas that will help encourage and strengthen new believers!
There are a lot of tools to help new believers in their walk with Jesus Christ.
But there are a lot of books and teachings that can also confuse new believers who have not yet become well acquainted with God’s Word.
Below are resources from me and other trusted men and women of God that aid in discipleship for new and even seasoned Christians.
Gift Guide for the New Christian
A Pocket Bible
One of the things I’ve found is that new believers are incredibly hungry for God’s Word.
Like babies, they need to feed on God’s Word often, reading in smaller portions several times throughout the day. And because they have not yet “hidden God’s Word in their heart”, they find they need a Bible with them at all times to find that verse to help them fight temptation.
A pocket Bible is essential for all believers, but especially new Christians.
This ESV Thinline Bible is small and yet useful, and the translation is both understandable and accurate.
A Study Bible
Study Bibles are a wonderful tool for gaining a deeper understanding of the Bible.
So often new Christians do not fully grasp what they’re reading, or why God says what He says in His Word.
The Spirit-Filled Life Study Bible is accurate and trustworthy, having been compiled by some of the most well-respected leaders in the evangelical community.
The Discipleship Series
I wrote this series many years ago for my own church, as a way to help new and even long-time Christians walk with Jesus at a greater level.
This series starts off with very basic teaching about the Christian faith and progressively moves into greater depth of Christian discipleship.
Designed to help new believers grow in their faith, each manual comes with teaching outlines and fill-in-the-blank pages to help new believers dig into God’s Word and discover what God says about them and their role in the kingdom of God.
These manuals are available in PDF and Paperback formats

Study Resources
An important element of discipleship is going beyond just daily Bible reading to uncovering and discovering the depth of God’s Word. We do this by researching key words in the Greek and Hebrew languages, understanding biblical geography, culture, and customs; and by learning how to tie all of these in with our life today.
Below are resources that I use on a regular basis for my own Bible study, and have found to be great tools for deeper study of God’s Word.
