There are a lot of people who have very strong beliefs, but it’s not convenient to live by that belief, they will adjust it according to the situation or the people that they are around.
They are called preferences: strongly held beliefs that may adjust when the situation requires it.
This is okay when it comes to what you eat for dinner: You may prefer a steak dinner, but fast-food is more convenient right now. But when it comes to building a family we cannot afford to raise our children according to preferences.
If we raise our children with strongly held beliefs that adjust when circumstances dictate it, we are building our family with the wrong kind of framework and it will not stand when faced with heavy pressure and storms.
Instead we must build our family on convictions: core values that a person is willing to give their life before violating.
And that is what I’m sharing about in today’s podcast.
