When we read in the Gospels about Jesus’ disciples leaving everything to follow Him, it doesn’t mean that they just causally followed behind Him.
It means that they walked in His footsteps, observed how He behaved and responded to different situations, and then patterned their lives after Him.
The Greek word for disciples means “a disciplined one”.
It means one who has learned to discipline themselves to daily fulfilling their spiritual disciplines of reading the Word and prayer; like Job to controlling their eyes to not look at immorality.
There is a call to being a disciple, but there is also a cost.
And that is what I’m sharing with you in today’s podcast.
