One of Jesus’ greatest lessons is found in John 8, when the Pharisees brought to Jesus the woman caught in adultery.
Jesus’ words, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more,” resound throughout history.
He wants us to grasp the whole concept of what He was doing in that moment – His grace that changes everything.
Jesus silenced the accusers who had caught her in the very act of committing adultery when He brought up their own failure.
I often ask myself, “How did they know where to find her?”
There has to be something to that question, and perhaps it’s connected with what Jesus wrote in the dirt when they were all standing before Him.
Their hearts were convicted by what He wrote, and they dropped their stones and walked away.
God was not her accuser.
It wasn’t that God didn’t know or that she was innocent of sin.
He wanted her to know His love, mercy, and grace in the middle of her sinfulness. And that is what God wants for you today.
