We are living in a culture very much like what we see in Joel 2.
Our culture has become a moral cesspool. You can’t trust anything anyone says anymore, whether in the
- Media
- Business
- Personal relationships
We have economic issues we’ll never be able to solve at 40 trillion dollars in debt. Our resources are in dire straits: farming, ranching, and our natural resources.
We tend to live in such an entertainment culture that we don’t want to face reality, and our media doesn’t want to tell us the truth.
The truth is, we need to lift our eyes to the hills, because judgment is coming.
But God is a God of mercy and grace.
Inviting the Fullness of the Holy Spirit
Blow the trumpet in Zion, Consecrate a fast, Call a sacred assembly; Gather the people,
Sanctify the congregation, Assemble the elders, Gather the children and nursing babes;
Let the bridegroom go out from his chamber, And the bride from her dressing room. Let the priests, who minister to the Lord, Weep between the porch and the altar; Let them say, “Spare Your people, O Lord, And do not give Your heritage to reproach, That the nations should rule over them. Why should they say among the peoples, ‘Where is their God?’Joel 2:15-18
God wants to pour out His Spirit in the last days in ways we’ve never seen, but we cannot do a normal, 21st-century American church.
We need to move the church from being stage-centered to being God’s throne-centered.
