Why did Jesus take the place of Barabbas?
What was the significance of the part of the story where Barabbas goes free?
Barabbas means “Son of His Father”.
On that Friday night, so long ago, Jesus, Son of God, bore the judgment against you so that you – Son of His Father – Barabbas could go free.
He bore the crown of thorns so that we could have a renewed mind.
He bore the abuse, the stripes, and the beating, so that we could be healed: body, soul, and spirit.
