A person or a nation who will find “delight in the law of the Lord;” who will love the Lord with all their heart, soul, and strength; who will order their life by the Word of God and make it their thought and meditation day and night; will be the envy of everyone, and they will prosper in everything they do.
That is God’s promise Psalm 1:1-3 and in Joshua 1:7-9.
The Psalmist poignantly wrote, “The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.”
Whether it is a person or a nation, when they reject the presence and the influence of Almighty God upon their life and upon their culture, they begin building a very unstable life and culture which can easily be blown away by the winds of time and adversity.
The United States of America is seeing the reality of that truth right now, today.
As the 19th century closed and the 20th century opened, the progressive movement began influencing the education system of our nation. John Dewey, the founder of progressive education, and his followers became the leading force in education.
Some of those influencers gave birth to the Humanist movement and wrote the Humanist Manifesto of 1933 (Humanist Manifesto 1). It was signed by thirty-four of the followers and leaders.
The preamble of Humanist Manifesto 1 reads:
Statements four through six of Manifesto, 1933, explain their rejection of Almighty God.
FOURTH: Humanism recognizes that man’s religious culture and civilization, as clearly depicted by anthropology and history, are the product of a gradual development due to his interaction with his natural environment and with his social heritage. The individual born into a particular culture is largely molded by that culture.
FIFTH: Humanism asserts that the nature of the universe depicted by modern science makes unacceptable any supernatural or cosmic guarantees of human values. Obviously humanism does not deny the possibility of realities as yet undiscovered, but it does insist that the way to determine the existence and value of any and all realities is by means of intelligent inquiry and by the assessment of their relations to human needs. Religion must formulate its hopes and plans in the light of the scientific spirit and method.
SIXTH: We are convinced that the time has passed for theism, deism, modernism, and the several varieties of “new thought”.
The fourteenth statement clearly reveals their belief and support of Marxism.
FOURTEENTH: The humanists are firmly convinced that existing acquisitive and profit-motivated society has shown itself to be inadequate and that a radical change in methods, controls, and motives must be instituted. A socialized and cooperative economic order must be established to the end that the equitable distribution of the means of life be possible. The goal of humanism is a free and universal society in which people voluntarily and intelligently cooperate for the common good. Humanists demand a shared life in a shared world.
It was the objective of the progressive movement to bring these tenants into the curriculum of the public schools and that they should become the very foundation and fabric of public education.
The progressive, anti-Christian movement received a great boast in 1935 when Max Horkheimer and his Frankfurt School were embraced and welcomed as part of Columbia University.
Founded in 1923 in Frankfurt, Germany, at the Institution for Social Research, Horkheimer and his fellow Frankfurt School professors were avowed Marxists, developing a new social theory they called, Critical Theory.
Yes, it is the foundation of Critical Race Theory (CRT).
This social theory was rooted in the deconstruction and removal of all cultural construct upon which the western Christian culture had been built so a Marxist humanist culture could be built in its place.
Horkheimer and his group fled Germany in the early 1930’s, at the rise of the Nazi Party control, realizing the Nazi government would not tolerate their contrary Marxist ideology.
Their arrival at Columbia University was just what the Progressives needed and gave the progressive, anti-Christian movement direct influence into the education system. Columbia University was and remains the most influential teachers university in the land.
It is from this university most curriculum developers and writers have risen. It is from this university the major influencers in teaching philosophy and ideology have risen.
After one hundred years of this progressive ideology seeping into our education system, we have almost three generations of students that have been taught a humanistic, rationalistic, secular philosophy.
They have been trained in a Post-modern, deconstructionist culture that is anti-Christian with moral relativity.
That is why we have middle school children questioning their biological gender, and their high school brothers and sisters believe sex is recreational. That is why we have sociologist and psychologists teaching a person’s gender is not determined by their biological make up and the American family has disintegrated.
This is the systemic cause of the war on drugs, crime and violence are exploding, and our cities are burning. This is the root our nation’s economy being out of control with a debt over 31 trillion dollars.
How did America fall so far?
We refused to retain God in our culture.
Like Israel, we threw God out and began building our culture upon the sand of godless philosophy and ideology. We removed God from our education system and began training sons and daughters with humanistic, rationalistic, pragmatic reasoning.
Deconstruction and historical rewrite removed their roots of identity.
Teaching them morals are relevant, what you feel is right or wrong.
Educating them to believe they are merely highly developed animals with no divine purpose or destiny for life. With Post-modern, deconstructionist, narcissistic ideology as the core of their curriculum, the four most important points of life were left unanswered.
- Who am I and how did I get here?
- Why am I here? What is the reason for my existence?
- What gives me a sense of value, worth, goodness, and purity?
- What is my destiny? What happens when I die?
Almost four generations of children have been left aimless, purposeless, without true identity, and without value.
It is without question, “The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.” We are literally watching the results God said would happen to a nation who planned and strategized against Him and against His Anointed.
The United States will not prosper again, no matter who goes into the Oval Office, the Senate, and the Congress, if there is not a mighty spiritual awakening that brings Almighty God back to center of culture; without God and His Word becoming the foundation and core of our education system; and without His Word becoming the standard of our morals and the principles by which we live our life.
