What is to be made of the words the Apostle Paul wrote to his spiritual son, Timothy?

“Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons, speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their own conscience seared” (1Timothy 4:1-2 NKJV).

“But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power. And from such people turn away… But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived” (2Timothy 3:1-5, 13 NKJV).

The Apostle is instructing Timothy about a time when the very fabric of the culture will be deception.

Even a casual tour of western history reveals several seasons of time when government and business were operated from a position of lies and deception.

That may have been the immediate reference to which the Apostle was referencing.

He was urging his spiritual son, and yes the church, to be alert to a time and season when the very core of the culture will be lies and deception carried by the wind of evil spirits.

The Apostle’s second letter to the believers in Thessalonica explained the crisis of truth even further.

^“The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be condemned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness” (2Thessalonians 2:9-12 NKJV).

The closer time moves toward the closing years of human history as we have known it and the rise of the Son of Perdition or the Anti-Christ, the more culture is going to be driven by lies and deception.

How This Culture of Deception is Leading To the Antichrist

Two dramatic cultural shifts are going to compound this crisis.

The first shift arises from the attitude of the people.

They no longer love truth. They want to believe the lies and the deception because they agree with their desire for sinful behavior.

The loss of love for truth gives an immense gateway for evil spirits to flood the culture with even greater measures of deception.

The second cultural shift comes from Heavenly Father.

Seeing the people’s great love for deception and hatred for truth, He grants them their desire. Just as He granted the desire of the children of Israel in the wilderness, Heavenly Father will allow a spirit of delusion to flood the culture.

Delusion is not just a synonym for more lies and deception. Culture will already be greatly under that influence.

God is going to send them “strong delusion.”

It is a powerful working of error that will lead the people into accepting deceptive cultural norms and erroneous practices they would never have accepted previously.

This “strong delusion” will label good as evil and evil as good.

Depraved and degenerate behaviors will become acceptable.

We are rapidly entering that time to which the Apostle Paul was referring. It is the only explanation for a cultural norm to shift as rapidly and at the magnitude we have seen over the last thirty years.

Sociology and psychology are teaching sexual identity is determined by how a person may feel about themselves.

It is no longer established according to their biological identification at birth.

A person with all male genitalia may really be a woman because he emotionally identifies as a woman.

A person will all female genitalia, including a womb in which to carry a child, may emotionally identify as a male, so that person is really a man.

Can you see the “strong delusion?”

This delusion is being strengthened through the junk science of this “post-modern” era.

Scientific data, that is actually distortion and based upon circular reasoning, is being propagated and published as if it were absolute truth.

Thirty to fifty years ago this data would never have been allowed to leave the laboratory and would have died on the floor and swept into the garbage bin.

Today it is being proclaimed as truth in a classroom and published in scientific journals, because the reasoning and data fit the desired sinful behavior.

It is allowed to be published and exalted as scientific proof that people are born homosexual or transgender.

It is no more scientific than those who propagate a belief in a flat earth. It certainly is not truth.

It does not take a rocket scientist to see how this distortion, moving toward “strong delusion,” is at work in other arenas of our culture.

A totally unexpected, and to many unacceptable, victory took place in the presidential election.

Accusations of collusion and obstruction arose and became ubiquitous in the media. An investigation was called for and carried out for six hundred and seventy-four days.

The final report declares there is no evidence of collusion and no evidence of obstruction. It also declares there will be no exoneration.

Why is there no final exoneration if the evidence clearly proves the accusations were unfounded at best and may have been conceived lies and deception?

The accusation, investigation, media hype, and the final report are not the actual objective.

They are just smoke screen deception and delusion to make cover for the real objective.

Do not stop reading at this point.

I am not pushing the agenda for one side of the aisle of the other.

This smoke screen has risen from both Democrats and Republicans. While all of this has literally dominated the news and the media attention what has been happening behind the curtain?

1. Socialists, communists, and Muslims, who are very vocal that the United States is evil and must be dramatically changed, have gained voice and power in the Congress of the United States.

2. Call for the abolition of the Electoral College has gained much traction, not only in the Congress, but in many of the state legislatures.

This masterful plan of protection was put in place by our Founding Fathers to protect the United States from a purely democratic voice of the people.

Without the Electoral College, all national elections would be determined by three or possibly four states of the Union; New York, California, Texas, and possibly Florida.

The rest of the United States would hold elections but they would have no consequence in the selection of the President and other matters of major concern.

The Founding Fathers wisely perceived this serious problem and established a system to prevent such a tragedy. They never intended for the United States of America to be a democratic government elected by popular vote.

They very intentionally and with great care established a constitutional republic; where the people elected their representatives and the representatives were accountable to their constituents.

3. Bills are active in the Congress and the Senate that weaken the Constitution and will move America toward a socialist government.

4. That is the real agenda behind this smoke screen of deception and distortion; weaken the United States Constitution and move it further down the road toward a socialist/communist government.

These are not minor or insignificant matters.

They are the objectives of the powers of darkness to weaken America through distortion and corruption.

Lucifer cannot set up his kingdom of darkness, with his representative, “son of perdition”, without weakening the culture of the United States of America.

It is important for believers to rise above the political fray; get their eyes, ears, and hearts above the “talking heads” and media hype.

Every believer has been given the Spirit of Truth, as Jesus promised in John 14:16-17.

The Holy Spirit will blow away the smoke and fog of distortion and reveal the truth.

Through the Spirit of Truth believers will be able to pray more effectively and with greater accuracy.

They will be able to spread salt in a culture that is losing its taste for truth and shine light into the growing darkness.
