Our culture is at a point where we’ve bought the narrative that truth is relative. If truth is relative, then a lie can be truth and truth a lie. This is a slippery slope where truth moves to deception, deception to distortion, and distortion to delusion.
Our nation has moved from enlightenment to relativism, then to post-modernism, and finally to post-Christianity. We’re rapidly headed for anti-Christianity.
But there is an even greater danger.
When this distortion and delusion is embraced by the Church in a culture, and instead of preaching the truth they embrace and teach the lie, where does culture go for truth, hope and salvation.
This is what Jude was writing about in verse 3.
Beloved, while I was very diligent to write to you concerning our common salvation, I found it necessary to write to you exhorting you to contend earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints.
Jude 3
God has ordained the Church to be a great guardian of the faith, but when she fails to guard the truth culture loses all hope and salvation.
